“Colon” Powell and his Moderate-Muslim Supporters

It’s interesting how the Moderate-American-Muslim populous has been in fervent support of Barack Obama for quite sometime.  Despite his “Stop calling me a Muslim!” demeanor, despite his “No hijabis in the front-row” attitude towards Muslims.  Despite his “We need more troops to kill the Muslims in Afghanistan”-foreign policy. Despite his “I love Israel” stance and partnership with Joe “I’m a Zionist!” Biden.

But now, I think they finally got the “validation” that they had been waiting for:

Last weekend on Meet the Press, with Tom Brokaw, Colin Powell said this:

“I’m also troubled by, not what Senator McCain says, but what members of the party say. And it is permitted to be said such things as, “Well, you know that Mr. Obama is a Muslim.” Well, the correct answer is, he is not a Muslim, he’s a Christian.  He’s always been a Christian.  But the really right answer is, what if he is?  Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer’s no, that’s not America.  Is there something wrong with some seven-year-old Muslim-American kid believing that he or she could be president?  Yet, I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion, “He’s a Muslim and he might be associated terrorists.” This is not the way we should be doing it in America.”

Sounds “sensible” to the average viewer/listener/reader.  He continued to say this:

“I feel strongly about this particular point because of a picture I saw in a magazine.  It was a photo essay about troops who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.  And one picture at the tail end of this photo essay was of a mother in Arlington Cemetery, and she had her head on the headstone of her son’s grave.  And as the picture focused in, you could see the writing on the headstone.  And it gave his awards–Purple Heart, Bronze Star–showed that he died in Iraq, gave his date of birth, date of death.  He was 20 years old. And then, at the very top of the headstone, it didn’t have a Christian cross, it didn’t have the Star of David, it had crescent and a star of the Islamic faith.  And his name was Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan, and he was an American. He was born in New Jersey.  He was 14 years old at the time of 9/11, and he waited until he can go serve his country, and he gave his life.  Now, we have got to stop polarizing ourself in this way.  And John McCain is as nondiscriminatory as anyone I know.  But I’m troubled about the fact that, within the party, we have these kinds of expressions.”

Like I said, the average American-Muslim will hear these words and think “Wow, finally, somebody is standing up against the ignorance of Islam that is plaguing this country” and “Colin Powell is a voice of reason that this country needs….good thing he supports Obama”.  And you will have the subjugated masses of Moderate Muslim “intellectuals” voice their support, such as Nafees Syed of Harvard University:

“We in the Muslim-American community look wistfully at people like Joe the Plumber, wishing that we too could be courted for our vote by the presidential candidates.

At the same time, we look gratefully at figures like former Secretary of State Colin Powell, who reassure us that there is hope for greater acceptance of Muslim-Americans.”

Let’s pause right there.  So this is what Muslims have become?  The most honored Ummah, the most honored people in the World.  The people carrying the flag of “La ilaha il Allah” have resorted to wishing that these deceitful, dishonorable kuffar pay attention to us? And we are grateful to Colin Powell?  Isn’t this the same Colin Powell that was instrumental with his lies into pushing the War in Iraq, in which over ONE MILLION of our Muslim Brothers and Sisters have been slaughtered?? How soon do we forget.

And Mr. Powell, thank you for bringing up such a honorable representative of the Muslim Ummah, Mr. Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan!! The Murtad US Soldier who turned his back on Islam and joined the ranks of the kuffar to kill our Muslims brethren.  Are these the principles on which the Muslims of the West should be unified upon? The idea that young Muslim children in America can grow up with the dreams of joining the United States Army and killing their brothers and sisters?

Get Real.  I am sick of this.  Colin Powell, don’t try to defend me.  Don’t look out for my rights.  I will place my trust in Allah Azza wa jal for that! And, all of you brainwashed Moderate-Muslim Intellectuals who are enjoying your spotlight right now, I pray that Allah guides you and I both to the true and right path.  But, I want to make it clear:  You do not represent me! You do not represent the honorable Ummah of Muhammad (SAW)! You only represent yourself and your love for this duniya.

Assalamu Alaikum wr/wb, MashAllah an excellent article. The American muslims are more desperate than most, to live an Islam acceptable to America. Their constant efforts to equate their religiosity with that of the Christians and Jews, has only resulted in a completely secular Islam, concerned only with wudu, fasting and adaab as their dawah. They reject any talk of shariah, defending Muhammed saws in the wake of the cartoons and the filthy book The Jewel of Medina, of Khilafah, anything political, no muslim group took on the case of Afiya Siddiqi, although she is a citizen (let alone a sister) and the word Jihad is no more than a dirty word to them- AstaghfirAllah. They delight in “never watching the news”, justify their extravagant lifestyles of shopping and ‘home makin’g by the fact that the women wear hijab and ‘modest’ clothes, and the men have beards (the sunnah of Chuck Norris). They take the weakest evidences and qiyas to change their actions where and when necessary.
I’ve over a hundred relatives there and have spent time visiting them and their communities. May Allah swt protect me, my kids and the correct minded muslims from such contaminated thoughts. Aameen.
