Moderates’ Muslim Matters.org

As unfortunate as it may be…in these times we really have to question the agendas and motivations of any Islamic Informational Outlets in the West that are well-established and have mainstream support.  Muslim Matters.org is no exception.  With contributions from Shuyookh Yasir Qadhi, Yasir Birjas, Tawfique Chowdhury among others, MuslimMatters.org markets itself as a platform for Bloggers and Shuyookh alike to address contemporary issues facing Muslims in the West.

 

They attempt to discuss topics such as Religion, Society, Ethics, Politics and Civil Rights with a tinge of humor…such as Yasir Qadhi’s article about Porcine Rennet in Doritos or even worse, this posting about Muslims Condemning Terrorism And that is what bothers me first about the site.  Is this the time for humor? Look at the situation of the Muslims in the West and around the world for that matter.  Is this the time when a major Islamic platform needs to be concerned with making itself more marketable by approaching issues like a comedian who prepares his script for his show…  Making sure to have enough punch lines to keep the audience amused?  Frankly, it is disgusting and disrespectful to the reader.

 

Furthermore, as our Brothers at the Ignored Puzzle Pieces of Knowledge have pointed out, muslimmatters.org facilitates a ridiculous discussion about who to support, McCain or Obama?!  Mohamad Elibiary decides to take the lead role in support of John McCain.  Yes, in support of John McCain!! Mohamad Elibiary justifies supporting this Kafir who has vowed to kill Muslims based on his ‘policy progress’.  

Also, Mr. Elibiary decided to take some shots at our Mujahideen brothers and those that are supporting them around the world (the bloggers that he likes to call Keyboard Jihadists).

**This is the agenda of the Moderates and their backers .  What hurts me most is to see how there exists a whole wave of young, educated Muslims in the West whose idea of Islam is just reading enough books to debate with their fellow Law School and Med School students at the local coffee shops on a Friday night.  These young Muslims may be intellectually inclined, but they definitely need to be led in the right direction.
